Lady Godiva
Revised

Synopsis:
Lady Godiva was the wife of Leofric, the Earl of Mercia. Leofric
founded monasteries at Coventry and Much
Wenlock.
Leofric was oppressively, over taxing the people. Ouch, too much!.
Sort
of what president Obama's bailouts are doing. Anyhow, Godiva felt
sorry for the people, and nagged her husband everyday to stop it.
Tired of her nagging, her husband made a bet. He'll let up on the
taxes, if Godiva ride through town naked, clothed only in her long hair.
Godiva told everyone to close their windows and doors, and not to peek.
Of course, Peeping Tom disobeyed her announcement. What a ride!
Her husband removed the stupid taxes. |
